History

Ann Long, a participant in Winning Women for Christ of Michigan (begun in 1958 by Jill Renich Meyers, granddaughter of evangelist R. A. Torrey), moved to Daytona Beach in 1968. She longed for the same experience Jill did - a time to come apart in Bible study to learn how to find spiritual fulfillment, how to be an adequate wife and mother, and how to find peace in the midst of confusion.

Following Jill's example, Ann started a Bible study, and in 1970, the first Florida retreat was held at Lake Swan Camp in Melrose. Since that time, Winning Women for Christ of Florida has ministered to thousands of women.

Winning Women for Christ is not an organization you join; it describes what you are. There is no formal membership, no denominational ties, and the only requirement is a willing heart seeking to know more about Jesus Christ.

Statement of Faith

The Bible is the infallible Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

There is only one true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus is God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died as a substitue for fallen mankind, arose bodily, ascended to Heaven, and will return to earth personally in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit is God. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates, indwells, and empowers the believer to live a life of personal holiness and a walk of obedience to the will of God.

All mankind is by nature sinful and lost, making necessary a new birth. Salvation is by grace alone, and is offered by God freely to all who will repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ by faith as their personal Savior and Lord.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16
